Hannah's Follow-Up

Well, we took Hannah to her pediatrician today.  Our ER doctor at LeBonheur suggested that we bring her in today for a follow-up.  We told him the whole story, he read her files, and said (just as the doctor at LeBonheur) that it seemed to be just a freak thing that happened.  Both doctors believe that she just strangled/choked on her spit-up/vomit.  Since Hannah was past her birth weight today (only by 1 ounce), we got to count this visit as her 2 week check-up.  Her doctor was very pleased with her growth and said she looked perfect.  He told us there were only 3 reasons for spitting-up to be a cause for concern: [1] when it keeps the baby from gaining weight [2] if it seemed to be painful for baby or [3] if it was causing baby to choke/strangle.  He didn't think that we would have any other problems with Hannah choking on her spit-up since we hadn't had any before Saturday and haven't had any since.  He did say to keep an eye on her, though, just to make sure she didn't seem to be getting strangled when she spit-up.

We are so relieved that she is doing so well.  And we are praying that we NEVER have anymore "excitement" like we had Saturday night.  I know visits to the ER are a pretty normal part of parenthood, but I don't think they are supposed to be quite that scary!
